Energy Storage Parks for Research and Greening Camps

A new sustainable project for Greening Deserts was founded, the world’s first Energy Storage Park, Solar Park and Wind Park. The project can combine renewables, innovative energy storage solutions, clean and green technologies in one area. The three parks will be a part of the first Greening Camp which is planned for the region of Leipzig in Saxony, Germany. During the years the founder and initiator Oliver Caplikas worked also on preparations for greening camps in North Africa and MENA region. Each bigger camp can have a energy storage park, solar park and wind park. The nations and regions who support the fastest and the most (constructive and financial) will be the first to get such facilities.

Greening Deserts projects are cultural, educational, economic, social, scientific and sustainable projects in the field of horticulture, hydroculture, sustainable forestry and agriculture – but also in the fields of clean technology (CleanTech), GreenTech and renewable energy such as solar, water and wind energy. Electricity access, availability and reliability together with energy efficiency will be optimized at the greening and research camps. The focus is on education and research. Conservation and environmental protection plays a very important role. Main goals of the projects are to reduce desertification, pollution and global warming in a large scale. Goals are also to improve the energy and food security, to offer innovative management, ecosystem and greening services. We want to reform the agriculture and forestry with ecofarming and ecoforestry. The projects can include each region and nation in the process, especially in relation to cleantech, environmental, infrastructure and sustainable investments – Green Finance and Sustainable Finance.

It’s a real chance for the world, especially for Africa and Europe to reach the Climate Goals and Sustainable Development Goals together with Greening Deserts international and innovative developments. The future vision is to establish a Greening Campus for each nation and several camps for all regions who need ecological and sustainable development services. LE Palms Leipzig Palm Platform and Online Portal Leipzig

Today is a very special day. Greening Deserts is proud to announce the first palm nursery and tree nursery, for important and rare endangered plants, in Leipzig. We will plant and research also other crops for advanced plant biology, usefull essences, medical substances, biomass and material science.

LE PALMS (Leipzig Palms), the official palm platform, portal, forum and group for palms was founded last year. The page and shop is ready and in progress. We want to open the first palm café, lounge and palm shop in Leipzig, Saxony. In relation to the greening and research camp in the area of Leipzig we can use a greenhouse and part of the camp for the palm cultivation. Since years we have the idea to launch an extra palm garden and palm shop with café directly in Leipzig. (Palm Café Leipzig).

Greening Deserts are economical, educational, cultural, social, scientific and sustainable projects to reduce desertification and global warming on a large scale. And Greening Deserts projects arn’t just for deserts or dry landscapes (drylands or wastelands), they are also good for urban regions. Greening camps in cities could build gardens, parks, woods and forests in urban areas (Urban Greening). The projects could have a very positive and big impact on many important sectors. With the right financial support, sustainable fundings or investments the projects could be realised fast and efficient.

Mammoth Tree Project for Leipzig Saxony Germany Europe and Africa

Greening Deserts started a mammoth project or campaign for our lovely hometown Leipzig in Saxony, Germany. It’s called 1000 Mammoth Trees for Leipzig. Of course we will plant much more, but we want to show that it is possible to plant 1000 trees in a day or during a week very easily. It’s much love, time and work around. Because some tree species like the giant Sequoia and Taxodium tree need a special cold treatment – we and nature have done the last weeks and months. Now we are ready to go and to grow it. The biggest Taxodium tree stands in Mexico. In 2005, its trunk had a circumference of 42 m, equating to a diameter of 14 m.

Taxodium trees in the area of Leipzig have a long history and goes back millions of years. It was one of the most widespreaded trees in the marshlands of Leipzig region. This mammoth-like tree and wood was highly sought after and expensive, that’s why this tree was felled massively. In Germany this tree is very rare and endangered. Greening Deserts projects will establish this tree again and plant millions of them in whole Europe. We want to establish this ancient tree again in the floodplain forests and lakeland region around Leipzig, but also in marshlands in Lithuania. You can help to plant them out this year. For drylands or wastelands we have also mammoth trees like the Taxodium mucronatum of Mexico and Adansonia trees of Africa. After years of plant research and studying the plant databases of Africa we found countless (also forgotten) plants are good to recultivate in grasslands, savannahs or even in deserts. Special desert plants like some ultraresistent bamboo sorts will help with soil loosening and subsoiling. Together with awesome plant mixes we can produce topsoil everywhere fast and efficient. That’s why we want to start also a greening- and research camp in the open-pit desert in the surface mining or post-mining landscape around Leipzig in Saxony, Germany. Of course these greening camps can be started in African and European countries with deserts, drylands or wetlands like in France or Spain.

Reduce global warming, negative human-made climate changes and plant more diverse parks, woods and forests – for better air quality and save CO2. Cool down urban areas with Urban Greening projects and establish more city forests. The second Greening Deserts master plan for desert areas such as open-pit deserts is ready and of course in continuous development.

The business plan, concept and study on sustainable greening methods, greenhouse management, forestry, agriculture and cultural economy for  opencast mine and post-mining landscapes can also be adapted as needed or revised for any situation.

Greening Camps and Research Projects for Surface Mining Deserts – Concept and Study for Opencast Mine and Post-Mining Landscapes

Excerpt of the business plan and master plan 2 in german language: Greening and Research Camps for Surface Mining Deserts: Concept and Study on Sustainable Greening Methods, Greenhouse Management, Forestry, Agriculture and Culture Industry for Surface Mining and Post-Mining Landscapes. – This is a pre-release published on 31 October 2017, Reformation Day in Germany.

Desert research, research and development of sustainable greening methods, greenhouse management, forestry, agriculture and cultural industries are the primary fields of the concept and greening deserts projects. The greening and research camp with a greenhouse, office or laboratory containers or tents for the research and development of greening and irrigation methods is the primary objective for open pit mines. Secondary objectives, such as sustainable recreational use and tourism offers, can be realized during the operation over the years and are not necessary for the successful start of the research project and base camp in the opencast mining area or a post-mining landscape. This also eliminates all associated conditions, provisions and legal regulations, since for the time being no public recreational use or tourism operation takes place. Nevertheless, forward-looking considerations and planning approaches as well as extensive points on the areas or topics were worked out and summarized in this concept. Greening Deserts projects are always planned as long-term and sustainable as possible.

Further tasks and goals of the projects are the education, research and realization of a sustainable greening, management and cultivation of all kinds of poor, barren and dry areas, landscapes (drylands) or regions. That’s why the main project u.a. Greening Deserts, which treats not only typical deserts but all types of deserts, including open-pit deserts, concrete or urban deserts. This can all be done with suitable greening and research camps, wards and centers. In this work and in the concept possibilities and ways of doing so are analyzed and discussed on the example of research and greening camps for opencast deserts, mining landscapes or post-mining landscape landscapes. In this article, further approaches and ideas for naturalization, rehabilitation, cultivation and recultivation will be presented in relation to all responsible persons and within the scope of the greening and research projects for surface mining or post-mining landscapes.

Greenhouses, Gardening, Landscape Parks and Forests for Opencast Mining or Post-Mining Landscapes

The fields of horticulture, agriculture and forestry play a special role in the Greening Deserts research projects of the greening camps and research camps, so these areas are not only researched and developed but also documented and mediated. On the basis of practical and theoretical work and examples, old and new possibilities for opencast mining and post-mining landscapes are presented, improved and further developed. The first set-up of the greening campaign in the opencast mine area of Leipzig (opencast mining desert), is to create a multi-layered garden and park with test fields for regional, domestic and country-specific plant species and special species from all over the world. In greenhouses, in addition to plant breeding (young plants, cuttings or seedlings), possible environmental and climatic conditions are also simulated, in separate areas, rooms or boxes.

As also described in other parts of the concept, the focus is on the research and optimization of different types, types of bodies, lighting and irrigation methods. The improvement of soil production, soil quality and plant growth is another important focus.

The processes (irrigation, light and nutrient distribution) can be further optimized through effective and economical energy and resource consumption. These are also tasks and objectives for the sustainable greening and management of all sorts of barren and dry areas or landscapes.

Since pioneer plants populate the landscape relatively quickly in most open-cast mining landscapes, thus loosening and ventilating the soils, it is easier to create new plantings such as garden plants, parks and mixed forests (mixed forests). This also results in further possibilities for future landscape design, such as, for example, experimental gardening, gardening, creative and artistic design of green areas and landscape parks.

We work and planning an extra research camp at the old opencast mine and new lakeland nearby Leipzig, Markleeberg and Zwenkau. We informed all responsible institutions, regional, national and Europe-wide - so far and good we could.Opportunities, innovations and positive developments of Greening Deserts projects are proved and documented.
