Join the Greening Deserts projects and initiatives like the Trillion Trees Initiative to reduce negative climate changes, deforestation, droughts, desertification, land degradation, floods and global warming on a large scale – especially in human-made deserts, drylands and wastelands. Different nations, organisations, personalities and institutions have already expressed their interest. Let’s make the world green again, together! What do you think about a Trillion Trees game where you can support environmental protection, conservation, species protection, planting trees in the real world by learning and playing? It is the first game project of this kind, would be great to realise it during the next years.

Greening Deserts is currently a private initiative or non-profit and social project of Oliver Caplikas. The startup and projects in the cultural, technical, social, economic and scientific area (reforestation, horticulture, greening, forest and field research) are currently in development or in preparation and any support is welcome. Especially before the official start of the first camp and the company Greening Deserts. There are already some independent experts and scientists involved in the background. During the years, well over 20,000 institutions and organizations have been informed and invited, and many are interested in future cooperation. Those who really want to help are welcome to actively participate or give constructive recommendations, advice or suggestions, share the project and comment meaningfully. Any active help or support is useful.

General information:

Greening Deserts or dry areas with sustainable irrigation and renewable energy. Using filtered ocean water, sharing systems overground and underground. Special desert plants can produce fast topsoil and create partwise shadows for plants around. Another great idea is to use bamboo water pipelines to reach dry areas or far regions. We have long time this idea now it is time to realise! We want to start everywhere it’s possible to get back topsoil, especially in dry countries like Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Spain, Lebanon, Syria, Saudia Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Iran, Pakistan, India, China, etc.

To accelerate the process professional greenhouses will be installed and newest sustainable cultivation techniques like permaculture will be used. The project starts primarily near coasts with building Greening Camps, a kind of farm with greenhouses and containers, tents or huts. We do not just want to build Greening Camps, parks and whole woods, we also doing scientific research and want to develop better irrigation and cultivation techniques in our lab and on site.

Greening Deserts projects are also good for refugee camps. Refugees can be integrated into the greening process, building greenhouses for food, medicine and forestation of parks and woods. They could create their own healthy environment and supply. We wrote detailed articles about this theme.

The fields of horticulture, agriculture and forestry play a special role in the Greening Deserts research projects of the greening camps and research camps, so these areas are not only researched and developed but also documented and mediated. On the basis of practical and theoretical work and examples, old and new possibilities for opencast mining and post-mining landscapes are presented, improved and further developed. The first set-up of the greening campaign in the opencast mine area of Leipzig (opencast mining desert), is to create a multi-layered garden and park with test fields for regional, domestic and country-specific plant species and special species from all over the world. In greenhouses, in addition to plant breeding (young plants, cuttings or seedlings), possible environmental and climatic conditions are also simulated, in separate areas, rooms or boxes.

As also described in other parts of the concept, the focus is on the research and optimization of different types, types of bodies, lighting and irrigation methods. The improvement of soil production, soil quality and plant growth is another important focus.

The processes (irrigation, light and nutrient distribution) can be further optimized through effective and economical energy and resource consumption. These are also tasks and objectives for the sustainable greening and management of all sorts of barren and dry areas or landscapes.

Since pioneer plants populate the landscape relatively quickly in most open-cast mining areas, thus loosening and ventilating the soils, it is easier to create new plantings such as garden plants, parks and mixed forests (mixed forests). This also results in further possibilities for future landscape design, such as, for example, experimental gardening, gardening, creative and artistic design of green areas and landscape parks.

For desert greening critics:

We care and respect the real natural deserts, we want to reduce desertification and other damages made mostly by humanity. We do not want to make whole deserts green. As it is clearly explained in our concept and project, we start with the greening and research camos on coasts or other waters, on the edge of deserts. It does not make sense to green old or larger sand deserts, there are often too many sand storms and less solid surfaces. Thus, only man-made deserts, wastelands and dry areas are greened and partly also forested. We simply help nature to regenerate itself faster, in these times of climate change, deforestation, desertification, global warming, land or soil degradation this is also urgently necessary. In the history there were mainly green areas at the places we want to regreen. We could produce topsoil, groves, parks or woods in dry areas with poor soil and plant mostly typical plants of the region. We know what we do and always care about the local conditions, grounds, water, air, biosphere,.. and working together with the nature – in harmony and natural balance.

Merci bien.

More information coming soon, check the official pages from time to time. Thank you!

At the right time(s) we will publish much more interesting information and important (or intern) information. To keep the concept and project safe, also because of industry espionage, datamining, abuse or other negative influences.
No panic, we will publish all important keyfactors, step by step. Everyone can watch, learn and participate. It are complex and long development processes. The first camp could stand after some months, but the greening process runs over years, first parks and woods could stand after three years.

If your plan is for one year plant rice. If your plan is for ten years plant trees. If your plan is for one hundred years educate children. – Confucius
